The alliance shift is a bummer for World of Hyatt members, although it’s a benefit for Marriott Bonvoy, one of the most extensive hotel loyalty programs. Starting October 1, 2024, modifications or cancellations for itineraries booked through Hyatt channels must be canceled and rebooked through MGM Resorts.
While existing reservations made through September 30, 2023, will still be honored, certain loyalty benefits will end earlier: Until this date, Hyatt members can book stays within the MGM portfolio through the end of September 2023. World of Hyatt has the current strategic agreement, which ends on September 30, 2023.
